Fundraising

Fundraising is at the heart of Izzy’s Impact. It allows us to grow our reach, raise awareness and continue supporting those affected by melanoma. Since launching the charity, we have been incredibly fortunate to have people take on challenges and organise events in Izzy’s memory, helping us turn purpose into action.

Our First Major Fundraiser

Fundraising

One of the very first fundraising challenges for Izzy’s Impact came from Izzy’s university friends, who took on an incredible journey in her memory.

Sam Pollard-Jones, now one of our trustees, alongside Stefan Wasmuht and Bobby Jones, cycled an astonishing 1100km from La Plagne, France, to Bournemouth.

The route was chosen for a very special reason. It began in La Plagne, where they had shared their final university ski trip with Izzy, and finished in Bournemouth. The place where they studied together and where so many memories were made.

What makes their achievement even more remarkable is that none of them had any prior road-cycling experience. Months of training, determination, and perseverance went into preparing them for the challenge.

Along the way, they were supported by an incredible team of friends, who helped them at every step of the journey.

The funds raised played a huge role in helping us launch Izzy’s Impact, providing the foundation to begin raising awareness and working towards our mission. We are so grateful to everyone involved. This challenge was more than just a cycle; it was a powerful tribute to Izzy and a reflection of the love that continues to surround her.
